Palms Place a 49-story, 600 unit condo-hotel went under construction on the West Flamingo Road, Friday, May 5, 2006. Palms Place, which will connect to The Palms Hotel through the SkyTube, an enclosed moving walkway. The tower will have a 60,000-square-foot pool and spa, gated entrance with 24-hour security, valet parking, room service, a two-story conservatory and business center. General Contractor Whiting-Turner is finishing work on the $300 million, 40-story Playboy tower next to the Palms. The tower features the first Playboy Club in Las Vegas, opening in September, along with a recording studio.

At the Cosmopolitan, things are moving along nicely. The first major part of construction has begun, with building the underground parking garage. This will require one of the largest excavations in the history of Las Vegas. Perini construction will move over one million cubic yards of dirt from the site to create a 90 foot deep excavation.

11/19/2005 - Construction underway on Tower C at The Residences at MGM Grand
|
|
Excavation work has began three months earlier than originally planned for Tower C at The Signature at MGM Grand, according to Dan Riordan, director of sales. Tower C marks the final 40-story condominium-hotel tower to be built at The Signature, a joint venture between Turnberry Associates at MGM Grand. Towers A and B are under construction, and Tower A was topped off in October. Tower A is scheduled for completion in mid 2006, Tower B is slated for completion in late 2006 and completion of Tower C is estimated for mid-2007. The towers are being built on the northeast corner of MGM Grand's 116-acre property and will be connected to MGM Grand via an enclosed moving walkway. The condominium-hotel's location is a driving factor as to why so many buyers are opting to own one of the furnished studio, one or two bedroom condominiums at The Residences.
